The Mad River Glen Co-op believes that participation is critical to fostering our sense of community. We work hard to offer various opportunities for our shareholders to get involved with their Co-op. To inquire about these opportunities please email eric@madriverglen.com . Here are some ways that you can get involved with Mad River Glen;
Serve the Co-op
One great way to get involved with your Co-op is to serve on one of the various Co-op committees or on the Co-op’s Board of Trustees. If you have an interest in serving contact the Trustees at coopboard@madriverglen.com
Co-op’s 10 th Anniversary Grand Soiree
We are hoping to form a “Decorating Committee” to work on bringing the Basebox to life for this very special event that to be held on Saturday January 21 st.
4th of July Float Committee
Mad River Glen is a perennial award-winner in the world-famous Warren 4 th of July Parade and extravaganza. We are currently seeking ideas for next year’s Mad River Glen float. The Warren 4 th of July Committee usually has a parade “theme”, which will not be announced until the spring. Also keep in mind we always like to come up with ideas that involve kids. The parade is on Monday the 4 th and a float building party will be planned in the days leading up to the weekend. To submit your ideas or to volunteer for the float contact the co-op office at eric@madriverglen.com.
Event Volunteers
We need volunteers to help work key events throughout the season. We need help for events like the Triple Crown, Ski Bum Races, the Family Tournament, the Telemark Festival and the Jr. Mogul Competition.
Mountain Work Day Programs
Each summer and fall our mountain work day volunteers visit overgrown woods lines and tend to young trees on the trails. Mountain Work Day Line Crews meet at 9 am on the Basebox porch and are generally finished at 3:30 - 4 pm. Be sure to bring sturdy boots, work gloves, water, lunch, appropriate tools, and a fun attitude. In addition to the satisfaction of seeing powder lines take shape and helping the forest grow for future skiers, volunteers also receive a complimentary day pass voucher for each day they work. A complete list of work days will be announced in the spring. Click here to find out more about our Mountain Work Days. (www.treeskier.com)
We’re Open to Ideas
Some of the most successful volunteer efforts have been made by shareholders who volunteered their unique skill. We have had shareholders design our website, design and build new fireplace doors, installed energy efficient lighting, helped with legal and accounting issues. If you have some expertise that you think might be helpfult to the Co-op contact us and let us know at eric@madriverglen.com
